IMPRINT 2008 is here, bigger and better than ever
Launched in March during the Hong Kong International Literary Festival, IMPRINT 2008 offers an eclectic mix of contributions from members of Women in Publishing Society.
Many selections are set in Hong Kong or have a Hong Kong connection and range from the short story to travel and memoir, and from political to poetic. They are interspersed with colourful vignettes of other parts of the world, both close and far, and with assorted commentaries.
Diverse topics run the gamut from travelling on the MTR, dying in the Philippines, fighting agoraphobia for the sake of your cat, escort services, habitual sex, getting rid of a lover, catching up with old friends, hiking in the Himalayas, Hong Kong's "philanthropic" developers, the Holocaust, revisiting India, being in love with water, coping with "big boobs", sociological aspects of Hong Kong, rescuing wildlife, aromatherapy for the uninitiated, life as a journalist to family issues and Chinese calligraphy.
The anthology also boasts some lovely photographs and paintings.
