IMPRINT 2009
Launched in March during the Hong Kong International Literary Festival, IMPRINT 2009 offers an eclectic mix of contributions from members of Women in Publishing Society.
Many selections are set in Hong Kong or in Asia and range from the short story to travel and memoir, and from political to poetic. They are interspersed with colourful vignettes of other parts of the world and with assorted commentaries.
Diverse topics run the gamut from inheriting a fine old violin, Hong Kong seen from up high, love by the lotus pond, a ten-day meditation, sadism rewarded, the hidden challenges of the school run, weaving a wedding skirt in Laos, sex on demand, an indigenous Hong Kong reptile, losing oneself in Malawi, bread to die for, whispering to elephants, travelling the world in search of wine, the hidden life of a revered Japanese poet, when the transport stops in India and a very unusual dining table to making maps, family issues and Chinese calligraphy.
The anthology also includes some lovely photographs and paintings.
